Vegas Trip 2015 with Friends: Monday Afternoon

We went on this trip LAST OCTOBER, just before Halloween. My fashion inspiration for this outfit was "off duty model." You know, like if I were a foot taller. I do not know why I decided to wear heels to the airport. I mean, I thought they were comfortable shoes, but by the end of getting to our hotel, my feet were not okay. I forget that other airports are much bigger, and Vegas lobbies are huge. Plus we had to drop off the other people at their hotel first, walk through their lobby and then get to our hotel. (I also had to lighten up the photos because you couldn't see the details of my outfit at all. I didn't know where the light switch was).

We stayed at the Cosmopolitan this time. The lobby was just GORGEOUS. Though I think the Aria room we had from our last trip was much better decorated. Neil went all out again and got us a room with a kitchen and a living room. We also had a balcony view of the fountains, which was super awesome. We spent most of the evenings drinking out there. If we ever go with a group again, I would try to get a room with a balcony.

  1. Ok so I want to live in that hotel, so awesome! Amazing view. I haven't been to Vegas, it's on my list.

I always try to plan the flying wardrobe to be a bit "International chic traveller" too, like it matters, some delusional part of my brain hoping for an upgrade mayb! But tbh comfort is more important. I hate when boots seem like they are comfy but are not, I have a similiar pair.

    1. I hate to admit I put more thought into my airport outfit than makes sense. I'm not being greeted by paparazzi. Comfort and ease through security should be my main concern!

  2. OMG, I LOVE your luggage!!! And that room - now THAT'S the room I wanted for my bachelorette party in Vegas. But you can't argue with a free room from a friend, so I won't really complain.

One of the only times I was worried about an airport outfit was when we went to Vegas - I usually fly in pajamas, but I knew we'd be heading straight from the plane to the Strip and I wanted to look fabulous - I admit I was wearing flats, though.

Your outfit totally looks like off duty model - nailed it!

    1. I bought that large suitcase five years ago for our wedding :) I wanted a gorgeous room like this for my bachelorette party as well, or at least at the new hotel (at the time) in Reno but my former maid of honor had different ideas. It's like she really didn't want anything glamorous to happen at all.

I just can't manage pajamas in public! I haven't even braved leggings/yoga pants out of the house yet. I want to, everyone else is doing it; someday.

  3. Dude, I think your "off-duty-model" look worked pretty well. I mean, sucks that your feet were in bad shape by the end, but if you found shoes that were comfy for the whole way, that would probably be a perfect travel outfit.
Also, da-hahm....that is a nice hotel. From the looks of things, Neil is really good at finding & organizing hotels and things.

    1. Those shoes work for a couple hours, mostly sitting type situations. I was dumb. Flats all the way next time!

Neil is the master organizer. Excel and Google Docs were used. Coupons and discounts were found. Multiple phone calls to hotels and airlines. It was a Thing. And trying to get everyone on the same page and figuring out what they wanted to do? they resisted a lot, thinking neil was micromanaging, but once the trip happened, they saw that there was still a lot of unplanned time.

    2. It was funny, I was telling Shawn about your trip stuff and places you'd visited and how much Neil was the master organizer and I was like "yeah, from previous posts Heather has shared, she doesn't love to do the planning and Neil loves to do the planning and he is super into it and makes sure and covers everything and is super good at it." And he's nodding along. And I'm like..."So, if in five years, you and I and them end up going for a weekend trip together, we're going to let Neil do the planning, because from what I've seen he's super awesome at it." And Shawn's like "cool, 'cuz I hate that shit."
So, yeah. LOL (Not to be psycho. You know.)

    3. As long as neil has an idea of what people like to do, he doesn't mind putting an itinerary in place. i've gotten better at suggesting things, i use to not know what i liked to do, weird as that is.

and eventually we will meet! and it will be weird, and awkward, and fun.

    4. I think when you first do trips, especially with new people, you don't know what you like to do. Because you know, you don't know. Some people are able to have fun and therefore make anything fun. Other people, you could literally be at the carnival and they would ruin it with cynicism. I am usually pretty easy going myself. But it's true, I would probably need to have a drink or two before the spa, because I get nervous. And the one time I had a professional manicure, the woman was exfoliating my lower legs and I thought she was going to scrub right down to muscle.
