Sunday Confessions | 5-8-16

The United States of Becky

I confess

The party last night was fun but smaller than was thought... about six people cancelled :( It's okay, now I have a ton of leftovers to use for lunches this week.

I confess

I don't want to plan a party like that for a long time. Next one on the list: Halloween. Takes so much of my free time!

I confess

My taco cookies did not come out the way I was expecting, nor did plan b, but I had a plan c and that came out pretty tasty! I mean, it was all the same ingredients, just varying presentations...

Linking up with Becky, you should too!

  1. I think if I had enough leftovers for the week I'd be happy too! Taco cookies sound...interesting! I have never thrown a pre-planned party in my life. Well I once tried to have a surprise b-day for the husband but his mother accidentally blabbed and said they couldn't come and wrecked it - grr!

    1. The taco cookies were suppose to be sugar cookies shaped as the shell, a cream cheese frosting and topped with strawberries and kiwi... then I was like okay, the shells aren't coming out at all, so cookie tostadas! but then my cookies got smooshed together while cooking, so i was like, okay! cookie trifles! lols.

ugh, wrecking a surprise party? that's harsh. i don't think i'd be able to throw a surprise party, keeping secrets is not my forte. i love party planning though!! it's my favorite :) well, planning the table set up.

    2. Ooh those sound like good cookies in theory! It was totally an accident but kind of pissed me off regardless, like you can't come to the party (it was his 40th, they live 2 hrs away) AND you are going to wreck the surprise (accidentally)...grr. in-laws!

  2. I don't think I could pull off a surprise party. At least lots of leftovers though, right?

    1. we made nachos for a late lunch today! yum :) we still had seven people show up so it wasn't a total bummer.

  3. My favorite part of having a dinner party is the left overs. I'm notorious for making WAY too much food just so I can have extras later. :D

    1. I don't mind some leftovers, we seem to make too much food without even trying though! I warned my husband not to make too much but he is always afraid of not having enough :)

  4. The only parties we've thrown since our wedding has been Jack's birthday parties. I'm in desperate need of having a party! Planning is so much fun - the decor, the table scapes, the themed food!!! Maybe in my next life I'll be a wedding/party/event planner. I can't wait for pics and a full party post from you!
