Sunday Confessions 2-24-16

The United States of Becky
I confess: When I went to the brewery on Thursday night, I unintentionally got really drunk. I'm too old to go to work kind of still drunk, ha. It was not a productive day. (I'm going to humble brag that I was hanging out with people that work for Apple... because that was pretty cool.)

I confess: I have started a lot of projects, and I have a lot (ha, you know, for me) of events coming up, and just thinking of it is starting to make me feel tired. I need to just get things done! Just do it, don't think.

I confess: We gave our cats flea medication because I HAD FLEAS. Well, one flea. Got bit on the same area as the flea(s) from LAST YEAR. Three super itchy bites on my belly. Ugh. Sorry cats. I lifted up my shirt and jump went a flea! Oh no you didn't. I probably got it from the tall grass I was edging from the yard. Why do all the blood suckers love my blood :(

  1. Pale white girls are like crack for all bitey bugs, I speak from experience! Though I discovered in Florida that the husband's pure Celtic blood is like even more delicious to the mosquitos than my muddy American blood, so now I'm safe there as long as he's around mwa ha ha! Were you drinking beer at the brewery? I can only get pleasantly buzzed with beer because I can only drink so much before I'm peeing every five minutes and then that's all I can take. :-)

    1. I totally get bit more than my husband, it's not fair!

i hadn't eaten lunch or dinner, so a flight and a few beers totally did me in. yup, on beer. i had to pee a few times but luckily the bathroom wasn't too far.

  2. I would humble brag TF out of hanging with Apple employees (unless they were just Apple store employees, then, you know, whatever).

I miss getting drunk. I've gotten tipsy and giggly a few times since Jack was born, but I haven't had the chance to go on a real regret it the next day bender in years. Someday, someday.

OMG, fleas. We have 6 indoor cats and have been battling fleas for weeks now. We're trying to go for a more natural remedy, but OMG. We're at least not getting attacked anymore when we walk into areas we don't traverse much. The natural route is taking longer, but working at least. So inconvenient! You hear that, cats? INCONVENIENT!!!

    1. ha, yes, real apple employees not mall ones! lols, i wasn't hanging out at the food court ;) A friend of mine just started working there and invited us to hang out.

yes, being a mom does mean being more responsible!

we tried to go the natural route with the diatomaceous earth and giving the cats a flea bath (omg never again, we tried with the super submissive cat and did not go well. sounded like we were murdering her) but i was getting eaten alive so we caved and went back to the poison :( once a flea bites me i have the bite for a few weeks, and they itch so baaaad. the younger cat sleeps with me and they would hop off her onto me, bite, and jump back on her. ugh.

    2. Yes, that's the stuff! We just call it demonic earth because we can't remember the other word.

    3. Demonic earth works! I had to google it to make sure I spelled it right, and I know I don't say it right. I put a layer underneath the fitted sheet (we got the food grade one so I'm thinking this isn't too bad) and I dusted the cat that sleeps with me a bit.

  3. Sometimes when I think about colonial people (and before) I wonder how they survived without thinngs like bug repellent. Seriously. They must have been eaten alive when discovering the new land. Imagine all that tasty new never-seen-or-tasted-before-European blood.
