My Ideal Thanksgiving Menu

I have never prepared Thanksgiving dinner on my own, nor do I think I ever will (too much work!) but I was day dreaming at work (you know, business as usual) and came up with a menu to a Thanksgiving that I will never host.

There are some items on the list that I have never made, so I do not know if it would even come out edible, but like I said, just a daydream people :) Apparently I like to plan for parties I never intend of having! Since it's a party of one in my head, I only put items that I would want to eat, so no turkey. Bleh. What would be on your ideal menu?

  1. This all sounds delicious, you must do it some day! Reminds me of the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (In a much more sophisticated way!) I guess because that was the first time I ever thought "Woah what if we could eat whatever we wanted at Thanksgiving?" I think because I am too lazy to make it here (I have done it once or twice, but hey eat turkey here at Christmas so it seems silly) Anyway I do miss the traditional T'giving spread. I don't know what Rum cream pie is, does it have lemon in it? I love key lime pie, or even a lemon meringue, that would make my dessert list! And maybe something lame like spaghetti and meatballs - I love stuff like that when someone else cooks it especially! There was a cooking show here where this chef would have a (usually British) famous person on and ask them what their last supper would be and he would cook it for them, it was pretty good!

    1. Well, if we are talking last meals here than I want half a dozen creme brulees, two old fashioneds, a strawberry mojito and a bowl of raspberries ;)

Rum cream pie... have you ever had a grasshopper pie? It's like that in texture. But I'm guessing that is another obscure pie ;) My husband says we (my family) like weird desserts.

Doesn't most food taste so much better when someone else makes it? I find this especially true for sandwiches.

  2. You are fancy! :)
I bet with your penchant for party planning and party favors and love of celebrations, you'd be great at hosting a Thanksgiving dinner party thing. It would have to be very festive with a bit of a party atmosphere, but you'd rock it out.
And PS - where did you acquire the background for the menu pic?

    1. Ha, that makes me think of the you're so fancy song ;) I'd have to come up with some thanksgiving favors to make, cause you know, that's my jam.

The background photo is from googling thanksgiving backgrounds, its a few lines down... i did not check to see if it was a free thing so i feel a little bit bad about stealing it...
