Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Wearing my besos (spanish for "kisses") shirt because I'm a dork like that :)

I'm a sucker for themed "holidays" and this is no exception. I understand that they don't celebrate it in Mexico, and that it isn't their Independence (Sept 16th is), but I love it all the same.

  1. Fun AND informative.... :)

    1. When my brother was in middle school, Cinco de Mayo fell on a weekday and the kids wanted to get out early. The teacher asked the class if they could tell him what Cinco de Mayo was about he would think about it. My brother was the only one that knew the answer (it was a significant battle fought against the French). What makes this a story is because my brother was the only white person in the class, the rest were mostly Hispanic.

I make it a point to at least know WHAT Im celebrating :) so I'm not just some culture appropriating a-hole.
