In real life...

Do you tell people in your real life that you blog?

For me it's almost like a dirty secret.

It's like telling people what I do for a living, I just hope they don't ask. Which, since that is an odd question to ask (Do you have a blog?), I don't think I have to worry!

There are a few times that I might link a post to my Facebook page, but I don't have it where everyone can see it. I'm afraid of someone being like that chicken.

  1. I definitely don't tell people I have a blog. My sister only knows because sometimes I need someone to take a picture of me. My friend asked if I had one just the other day (she has one too) and I got a little bit of anxiety...like do I tell her? should I lie? haha such weird feelings over blogging!

    1. I try to take my pictures on the sly! I get embarrassed if my husband sees me taking pictures :/ I don't want him teasing me! Even though he knows I have a blog and is a follower!

  2. I love blogging and tend to probably share mine more than is necessary :-)It's fun and a great way to learn stuff as long as you don't take your self to seriously. Thanks for the giggle...great picture!...and linking up to the GYB linking party.

Oh yeah, feel free to drop by my blog ;-)

    1. Thank you for reading! I love blogging, especially now that I have "discovered" the social aspect of it (connecting with other bloggers), I just have to get over the weirdness of it! ---heading over to your blog right now :)

  4. I'm like you, for me is also like a dirty secret, I try to keep it as private is possible. Is not something I feel comfy sharing with my "real life" friends, mostly because I'm afraid they'll ask for the link to check it out!

    1. Yay, I'm not alone! :) There are a few people in my real life that know about my blog, but it's not something I discuss with them. I NEVER ask "hey, did you check out my blog post today? No? GO DO IT". Haha!

  5. Only my immediate family know that I have a blog & they really don't even read it. I just don't want people I know to know, ya know?! Haha.
I once found someone's blog that I kind of know IRL. I got kind of weirded out. It's like you think you know someone & they've got this whole other thing going on inside their head! I'm sure people would think that about me if they read my blog!

    1. Wow, that would be so weird to unknowingly stumble on someones blog that you know in person!!! I can be really quiet in person, so I'm not sure how I my personality appears in blog format. I'm much different in my head!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! It's weird that blogging has a stigma...

  7. So true, I am always really shy about telling anyone I blog - I had been blogging a month before I even told my family (apart from my husband who was called in for essential technical support!).

    Loving reading your blog.

    1. thanks for reading! i think maybe because blogging is something you do alone that makes it cringe worthy? and seems narcissistic? i don't know. but i love it, and have loved connecting and getting to know other bloggers!

  8. When I first started I didn't tell anyone, and that was a good thing...I just went back and reread some of my early stuff, and, well....it's all crap... now that I feel I've found my voice, I started a FB page and ordered business cards...self marketing is really weird, though...

    1. I feel I am still in the process of figuring out my blog. At least I feel I have gotten better! Self promotion does seem weird to do if it's not something that you are already prone to. I find most people are fairly humble, and having a blog and/or store/business is the opposite of that!
